(Evolve) LDM-15 Settings And Notifications

Last Updated: May 14, 2013 11:45AM PDT
While most of its internal settings for the LDM-15 can be left alone on your Vera Dashboard, you can make adjustments and set notifications.

Let's begin with a simple one that might be useful in a home with more than one plug-in lighting module -- let's give it a name, so you know which one is which when you want control from your Dashbaord.

Hover your mouse over the top blue bar of the LDM-15 Device in your Dashboard, so that the wrench icon appears, as shown. Click on the wrench icon.

You'll first be taken to the "Control" tab, which shows you similar functions to the device display on the Dashboard. You can set a dimming level (100% is full illumination) and turn the light on and off.

Now click on the "Advanced" menu and in the field provided, you can enter a name for your lighting module, perhaps by a location, or by a function like reading.  Fill your preferences in the field below, as shown:

Any other smart devices in your system can also send messages and action commands to your lighting module in a Scene.  Follow this link for more information on how to create scenes.

SETTING NOTIFICATIONS

You can also have your lighting modules send you notifications via email or text when something happens, like a light turning on when you're not home.

To make the lighting module send you notifications, you must first have set up your Notifications preferences.  If you haven't already set up these preferences, please do so now.

If you have the VeraLite Smart Controller, click here to learn how to set your Notifications preferences.
If you have the Vera3 Smart Controller, click here to learn how to set your Notifications preferences.

To set a notification, click the "Notifications" menu in the lighting module.  You'll see a drop-down menu labeled "Add notification for"  that lets you select when you'll receive a text or email notification:

Click and hold the drop-down menu, and you'll see a list of events that will make your lighting module send you a notification.  The list of these possible "events" can change and grow over time as your add more devices to your smart home system.
